This article is for people who love sex and love their bodies already. This is a very simple idea to be approached after the bubble bath and the scented candles. I am assuming here that the person reading this article has already found a link between sexuality and spirituality. I am also assuming that you are ready to take your sex magick experience to the next level.
Before you try my simple approach to sex magick, I recommend reading the beautiful and intelligent book The Soul of Sex, by Thomas Moore, and the straightforward and funny new book by Susie Bright, Full Exposure. These books will give you background about erotic energy and some insight into how to make the practical little idea I am about to present here much more powerful.
Creative energy is the basis for all sex magick, so the first thing to do is get in touch with that energy. It is important to acknowledge the magnificent and massive power inherent in sexuality, sensuality and love for sex magick ritual work. Eros, the mighty power of sexuality, is the most basic energy present in the universe. Whether I am building a bridge, making a baby or creating a software program, it is all the same creative energy and it comes from the same place. There is nothing else out there to create anything from.
If I approach making love with the same intention as any other ritual, I experience the God and Goddess. I experience a sense of connection with the universe, and as in any other ritual or prayer, I am able to direct the energy that is raised toward creating my deepest heart's desire. This little recipe will give you a sure-fire way to successfully direct that glorious sex magick energy.
1. The X-Axis Is Time
Clocks, calendars and computers tell me that Time proceeds in a straight line, each moment following the next as I march from the past into the future. I live with a fleeting perception of the present moment, and my desires are always focusing on the future or pining for the past.
Now, suppose I take the horizontal line of events that I perceive as Time and rotate it onto a vertical axis. I can stand over the line and looking down at all of the events past, present and future — this is what some people describe as the way "God sees time."
In my mind, this particular understanding of time gives me a deeper comprehension of several metaphysical occurrences — past-life regressions, premonitions and near-death experiences. When I understand the notion of all time being a simultaneous experience, I can move up and down on the continuum. The ability to ratchet back and see a past life or forward to a future event is effortless in this model of time.
Sexual pleasure falls on the same continuum. I believe that the orgasms that I experience today are part of the same pleasure that my soul has been experiencing since the beginning of time. This explains the many spontaneous past-life experiences I have had as the direct result of sexual pleasure. Pleasure and pain, like death and birth, are in a place of transcendent time because they are the same throughout time. That would also explain why a person's life "flashes before their eyes" when they have a near death experience.
2. The Y-Axis Is Space
Somewhere between Einstein's Special Theory of Relativity and fractal geometry, I came across the idea that in order to become matter, energy must have specific coordinates in space. Therefore, the second half of our equation is space or location.
Manifestation happens in predefined locations. When I visualize manifesting anything in this physical world, I must focus the creative energy of the universe into a particular place. I become aware of things such as where will the house be, where I will drive the car and what finger will I wear the ring on. The ability to perceive where an object will reside is a powerful tool for focusing the intention of manifestation.
3. Putting It All Together
I now have all of the pieces I need to create a very powerful equation. If I take the enormous amount of creative energy generated when I have sex and focus it with my intention to the exact time (X) and place (Y) of what I desire, I can create anything. It is possible that I am creating planets, stars and universes with every act of love that happens, but I am not always aware of it.
You can also apply an X-axis and Y-axis to the body. In this case, the X-axis is vertical; you can place it so that all of the pleasure centers reside along it. You can similarly place a horizontal Y-axis along which lie all of our creativity and healing centers. The intersection point is the heart, the focus-point of all love and creativity. The head is like a control tower in this model, but I think it is also an important pleasure center.
So, the next time you do sex magick, planning to send sexual energy toward the end you desire, consider these things. Know that all the pleasure you have ever had through all time is available now, as you make love. Focus the creative energy that you raise in your sexual organs using the heart and head, take action with your hands and make your spell manifest!
Everyday Occurrences
In my opinion, profound events are happening in and around us all of the time. They are the most moving and the most mundane events in my life. You may experience this sex magick as an everyday occurrence, but the results, like the miracle of good sex itself, will be profound when you least expect it.
