Cantrip For Mebd

poem by Michael Lohr

In the sea of shadows the soul waits, still and silent,
Longing for the spiritual freedom of the Old Ways,
The clouds of the sky hide the earth from the eyes of my Moon Goddess,
Too many tears would she shed for her children if she could see our plight,

Queen of Magic
Queen of Illusive Shadows
Goddess of the Faerie
Always keep Danu the Mother and the Morrigan in sight

She waits for the eclipse to shadow the realm of man,
For his new gods of concrete and conformity
give him not comfort in these days.
When the paradigm of this reality has changed,
Then she will dance in the cool, cool night wind, under the light of an enchanting moon.

Queen of Magic
Queen of Illusive Shadows
Goddess of the Faerie
Always keep Danu the Mother and the Morrigan in sight

The May Queen will tread the path so less traveled in recent times.
And I will follow her sacred footsteps to the Garden of Tranquillity.
Love is pure if love is true and true love is eternal in the forevermore.
Her smile would always grace my morning
as the birdsong breaks the light of day.
Her caress in the small hours before dawn's twilight
comforts me and I know that I am safe in her bosom.

Queen of Magic
Queen of Illusive Shadows
Goddess of the Faerie
Always keep Danu the Mother and the Morrigan in sight

Unto the ages I have gained my name in her favor,
Unto the ages I have found my destiny in her eyes,
I stand for the coming of the dawn of a new day,
A day when the Goddess is once more the axiom of heart and loam.
