Calendar Help Needed!
Come meet new pagans, and help your local pagan paper!
Widdershins has been publishing a community events calendar for the entire time we have been in existence, at no charge to the event organizers. We cannot print a calendar if we have no events! We did not receive any calendar information this issue except for a few items.
If you want to be able to see a calendar of events, we urge you to ask your organizations to submit their events before the deadline. Unfortunately, we no longer have the time to call around trying to get the information from them.
To all of the event organizers: We will not be able to call everyone anymore to get the calendar information, so if you want your events in the calendar - please send them in a timely manner.
If anyone is inclined to take on the job of organizing the calendar, please call Sylvana at 363-7896. You'll gain our deep appreciation!
Sylvan Grove Class Taking Applications
It's that time of year again, the witches' new year, time to go inside and do work on ourselves. If you are interested in learning more about the Sylvan tradition, you have the opportunity to apply for the 13-week intensive class. If you want to apply, call Sylvana at 363-7896. The application process will take place on Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997, from 5 p.m. till 8 p.m. If you want more information on location, dates and times of classes, and so on, call before Nov. 7.
Ad Sales Rep Still Needed!
Widdershins is supported solely through the advertising that appears in its pages. This has not been enough to pay for the paper, so we need a person willing to put in some time sending out information, making calls to potential advertisers and following up with current advertisers that need a reminder call. We can't pay you, but we will give you free ads if you're willing and able to make a commitment. Prior sales experience helpful but not necessary. Please call Sylvana at 363-7896, press 1 and leave a message. Thank you!
Put Out - Widdershins!
Widdershins' distribution is one of the most important jobs we do, and we still need help.
If you have a few spare hours a couple of times during the six-week period between issues, and a car, you can distribute to our pagan-friendly businesses. Distribution is one of the fun ways to participate; you get to go to cool stores and check out the pagan community and meet interesting people.
You also get to hang out with us, the staff, who would appreciate you tremendously, as would a lot of other people who would be able to see the paper much sooner. It also would be great for your karma!
We need help in all areas, especially south Seattle, Renton, Kent, Federal Way, Tacoma, Olympia, Vancouver and Portland, Oregon.
If you live farther north than Everett, we are also looking for distribution points in Monroe, Woodinville, Bellingham and for Victoria and Vancouver, B.C., Canada. If you know of a place that would like to carry Widdershins, or want to deliver, please call Sylvana at 363-7896.
Come Play with Us!
You can become a professional newspaperperson in a few easy steps - and become famous (or infamous) worldwide!
Widdershins continues to look for desktop publishing experts, artists, writers, typists, office organizers, copy editors and proofreaders - in short, workers for just about every task associated with the paper. We're growing so much and having so much fun, we've got to share it! Perks include semi-professional training and deep appreciation. Possession of your own personal computer, knowledge of Microsoft Word and/or Pagemaker for Windows are pluses but not requirements.
For more information, call 363-7896 and ask for Sylvana.
Grant Us This Boon, O Goddess!
Even though we've recently upgraded, we still need several things. So we are asking the gods, goddesses and whoever else might be listening: If anyone is upgrading their machines or would like to support the paper by donating any of the following IBM-compatible equipment - a full page scanner, a printer that prints 11-by-17-inch paper, a 17-inch full-page tilt monitor, or even a whole new computer- we'd be thrilled to accept it. It would certainly make our lives easier if we had some more equipment to work with. We also would be happy to accept cash donations toward any of the above.
Thank you and blessings to all, the Widdershins staff.
Big Hugs and Kisses!
A special thank you and big hugs go to Neil for his help picking up the last issue and delivering it (and me) home! More thanks go to: Andy Paik for his seemingly never-ending work on production, Jerry Kaufman for his valuable copyediting skills, Dedric for his hard work maintaining the Widdershins World Wide Web page, Sybil for her help with production, Bonnie for her subscription help and Erika for her excellent proofreading skills, and to all of the other typists, copy editors, proofreaders. Our delivery people, Sebastian, Richard, Sharma, Wade, Candace and Harold make it possible for the paper to be available for free, thank you, thank you, thank you!!
And as always Miriam Harline for her valuable support and aid.
Thank you all so much - without you, the paper wouldn't exist! Goddess bless you all always! Love to all, Sylvana.
