Advertising Rep Needed!
Widdershins is supported solely through the advertising that appears in it's pages. This has not been enough to pay for the paper, so we need a person willing to put in some time sending out information, making calls to potential advertisers and following up with current advertisers that need a reminder call. We can't pay you, but we will give free ads if you're willing and able to make a commitment. Prior sales experience helpful but not necessary. Please call Sylvana (206) 363-7896, press 1 and leave a message. Thank you!
An Excellent Way to Support Widdershins!
We know it's not always easy, and sometimes it's impossible, to find Widdershins at the distribution points. Since so many of you have requested it - you may now subscribe to Widdershins and have it delivered by mail right to your door!
The paper will still be free at any of the distribution points, and you can still download the text version from our World Wide Web site, but now there is an option for those of you without computers and those who live in other parts of the country or the world.
That's right, for only $20 per year in the United States (prices higher elsewhere; see below for details) you can have each issue sent directly to you or to a friend, first class, as soon as it's published. Send us a check or money order and the subscription form today, and get the next print issue mailed to you!
Prices:
If you would like to further support Widdershins in its purpose, you may choose a contributing or supporting subscription. A list of contributing and supporting subscribers will be printed in each issue, unless you request your name not be printed. A contributing or supporting subscription makes a great gift for your coven members, high priest and priestess or family and friends.
Donations for any amount always gladly accepted!
Big Hugs and Kisses!
A special thank you and big hugs go to Melanie Fire Salamander and NightOwl for the benevolent and generous donations; you are goddesses! Again, I also want to thank Miriam Harline for everything she does that makes the paper great!
A million thanks go to Harold Henry for his (seemingly) never-ending computer maintenance, to Dedric for his hard work maintaining the Widdershins World Wide Web page, and to Wade Peterson for his ongoing support. Big hugs also to Red Oak, Jerry Kaufman and Felicia for editorial assistance and copyediting skills, to Bonnie for transcription and subscription help and to all of the other typists, copy editors, proofreaders, and delivery people, Sharma, Wade, Candace, Harold, etc!
Thank you all so much - without you, the paper wouldn't exist! Goddess bless you all always! Happy holidays; I hope Santa brings you what you want! Love to all, Sylvana.
Washington State's First Northern Clergy
by Joshua Gordon
Saturday, March 1st, 1997, Archpriest of the Aquarian Tabernacle Church (ATC) tradition of Wicca, Rev. Pete (Pathfinder) Davis, serving in his second year as the nation's first Wiccan president of the statewide Interfaith Council of Washington State (a council which includes official delegates from all major denominations from Baha'is to Zoroastrians, including the Big 3) has obtained another "first" for himself and honors to others: He has recognized independent status as Legal Clergy outside of the ATC's Wiccan church requirements, to Rev. Joshua TiLjossIng Gordon, Godhi of the Havamal Alliance. Rev. JT Gordon is the ATC's, and Washington State's 1st acknowledged legal Northern Tradition Priest, who before this date was serving as legal clergy to heathens under Wiccan auspices at Our Lady of the Mist-ATC in Renton, Washington. Rev. JT Gordon was a founding board member of OLM, an affiliated legal church congregation of the ATC.
Rev. JT Gordon thanks the ATC, Rev's. Don Joseph and Lady Diane of OLM, for this honor, and for recognizing his and other heathen church members for their work in establishing the OLM.
That same weekend the 12 adult members of the Havamal Alliance hosted Prudence Priest, Jafnar of the AVA (American Vinland Alliance), as the guest of Honor for 21 folk at Huldur Ve Hof. With horn and Sumbel they officially founded the Washington State Heathen Alliance to serve other non-Wiccan members of the neo-pagan community, that have increasingly frequented the OLM at Pendragons Bookstore.
Rev. JT Gordon and coven members of OLM, who are decidedly non-Wiccan in their personal spirituality, have respectfully withdrawn from OLM to dedicate themselves to the management of the Heathen Alliance which presently serves 35 folk.
In keeping with the elder northern tradition, to which JT Gordon is dedicated as Godhi, bonds of trust, troth, and clan will form the community, and no church will be formed. Legality of clergy, for other heathen traditions will expand to other Heathen Alliance management in the course of the year.
Rev. JT Gordon continues his Runa work shops and has many runic apprentices as an extension of his work for the Rune Guild.

Put Out - Widdershins!
Widdershins' distribution is one of the most important jobs we do, and we still need help.
If you have a few spare hours a couple of times during the six-week period between issues, and a car, you can distribute to our pagan-friendly businesses. Distribution is a fun way to participate; you get to go to stores you might not normally visit and check out the pagan community and meet cool people. The stores are great, and people are delighted to see with you each new issue.
You also get to hang out with a bunch of cool people who would appreciate you tremendously, as would a lot of other people who would be able to see the paper much sooner. It also would be great for your karma!
We need help in all areas, especially downtown Seattle, Queen Anne, south Seattle, Renton, Kent, Federal Way, Tacoma, Olympia, Vancouver and Portland, Oregon.
If you live farther north than Everett, we are also looking for distribution points in Monroe, Woodinville, Bellingham, and for Victoria and Vancouver, B.C., Canada. If you know of a place that would like to carry Widdershins, or want to deliver, please call Sylvana at (206) 363-7896.
Come Play with Us!
You can become a professional newspaperperson in a few easy steps - and become famous (or infamous) worldwide!
Widdershins continues to look for desktop publishing experts, artists, writers, typists, office organizers, copy editors and proofreaders - in short, workers for just about every task associated with the paper. We're having so much fun, we've got to share it! Perks include semi-professional training and deep appreciation. Possession of your own personal computer, knowledge of Microsoft Word and/or Pagemaker for Windows are pluses but not requirements.
For more information, call (206) 363-7896 and ask for Sylvana.
Grant us this Boon, Oh Goddess!
We have been producing Widdershins with a minimum of old equipment, and we could use an upgrade; we really need several things. So we are asking the gods, goddesses and whoever else might be listening: If anyone is upgrading their machines or would like to support the paper by donating any of the following IBM-compatible equipment - a full page scanner, a printer that prints 11-by-17-inch paper, a 17-inch full-page tilt monitor, or even a whole new computer with a processor faster than 66 megahertz - we'd be thrilled to accept it. It would certainly make our lives easier if we had more modern equipment to work with. Plus, the paper would get produced earlier! We also would be happy to accept cash donations toward any of the above.
Thank you, and blessings to all the Widdershins staff!
