PICNICS FOR EARTH MOTHER'S CHILDREN
There is a lot going on these days at the Aquarian Tabernacle Church! The bulk of the activities are listed in the calendar of events elsewhere in Widdershins, but there's something new we'd like to highlight _ the ATC family picnics.
The future of paganism lies in our children, and there are more and more pagan families with children of all ages. Unfortunately, there don't seem to be a whole lot of pagan-oriented family activities and opportunities for our kids to learn about the pagan way of life. Now the ATC is providing a monthly gathering of pagans with children _ the ATC family picnics.
These gatherings, held centrally in Marymoor Park in Redmond just off Highway 520, include games, activities and a good, old-fashioned cook-out. Brainstorming will take place about creation of a more formalized pagan-oriented scouting-type program in the future. If you have children and are concerned about whose "family values" they should be learning, come on down to a ATC family picnic and meet other like-minded folks.
The program is being coordinated by the ATC under the direction of Lisa Bell, who can be reached in Seattle at 286-6310 for more information. The picnics are pot-luck and start at 1 p.m. at the park _ look for the big blue ATC banner. The next one will be Sunday, Aug. 6. Don't miss it!
